CSDN APPOINTS BRIGADIER -GENERAL ADEWALE ADEKOYA AS A MEMBER OF THE GOVERNING COUNCIL

 Brigadier-General Adewale Adekoya is a distinguished senior officer of the Nigerian Army with over thirty-one (31) years of meritorious service. He notably served as the Commander of the 35 Artillery Brigade located in Alamala, Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria. An indigene of Ogun State, he hails from Ago-Iwoye in the Ijebu North Local Government Area.


Throughout his military career, he has demonstrated proven expertise in administration, security management, training and capacity development, conflict resolution, and diplomacy. His leadership style is widely acknowledged for its humility, discipline, and exceptional professionalism, earning him respect across military and civil institutions. He is also a member of several reputable professional bodies, reflecting his commitment to continuous learning and adherence to global best practices. In further pursuit of academic excellence, he has acquired a Doctorate Degree in Sustainable Development, strengthening his capacity to contribute meaningfully to national and global development initiatives.


On 25th February, 2026, he was appointed as a Member of the Governing Council of the Congress for Sustainable Development of Nigeria (CSDN). His appointment aligns with the principles of United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions), given his extensive background in security, institutional strengthening, and conflict resolution. His inclusion in the Council is expected to reinforce CSDN’s commitment to promoting peace, justice, strong institutions, and sustainable governance in Nigeria.
