Inaugurates Executive Committee

  Students advocating for the realization of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), under the umbrella of the Congress for Sustainable Development of Nigeria (CSDN), have reaffirmed their commitment to advancing the goals across all parts of the country. At its maiden inaugural meeting held over the weekend in Abuja, the organization officially inaugurated its newly elected Executive Committee and laid out a comprehensive roadmap to intensify grassroots efforts toward achieving the SDGs. Speaking at the event, Professor Gobna Wafure, Director of the CSDN Centre at the University of Abuja, emphasized the urgent need for collective action to localize the SDGs and overcome barriers slowing their progress in Nigeria.  “We must be relentless in our mission to promote inclusive governance, environmental stewardship, and equitable economic growth if we are to realize a truly sustainable Nigeria,” he said. COURTESY VISIT BY THE DIRECTOR, UNIABUJA LEADERSHIP CENTRE

  Today, 5th July 2025, Prof. Philip Deewua Dahida, Director of the Leadership Centre, University of Abuja, paid a courtesy visit to the office of the Congress for Sustainable Development of Nigeria (CSDN). In his remarks, he commended the students of the Centre for thinking beyond classroom work and mere certification. He emphasized that pragmatic action is essential for achieving sustainable development. He further noted that while the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) were not fully achieved, the world is fast approaching the 2030 deadline set by the United Nations for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). He stated that the University of Abuja is committed to building agents of change who will help Nigeria and the global community attain realistic development targets.
